Book Review: 'Intrusion' by Douglas Sainsbury
There is so Little That We Know About the Universe
"Intrusion" Will Keep You on the Edge of Your Seat
If you enjoy edge-of-your-seat, exciting stories, then "Intrusion," a novel by Douglas Sainsbury, will definitely appeal to you.
What if your life was completely transformed in one day? This is the dilemma that faces Jeremy Chambers, whose life is suddenly impacted in mysterious, inexplicable ways.
An invisible force has invaded every corner of Jeremy's life. He is unable to work at his Chicago investment company job, because every computer he attempts to use produces a blank blue screen and locks. His ID is the only one in the lobby of his building which will not work. He almost hits a deer with his car during his morning drive to the train station, but miraculously the car stops just barely in time to prevent catastrophe. Even more unsettling, the same deer keeps popping up in his life; there is something truly frightening about this doe.
Jeremy’s issues multiply as his wife now views him differently, as if he has become a stranger, just at the point when he begins to notice he has developed extraordinary new powers. She fears for the safety of their young children and takes them to her parents’ home in Southern California.
The CEO of his company worries that if the facts about the things happening to Jeremy find their way into the hands of the media, clients will take their business to other firms. Jeremy searches for friends he can trust to help him navigate the increasingly dangerous situation. Foreign governments may be trying to eliminate Jeremy because of his new abilities.
The pressure amps up even more when the FBI is ordered to protect Jeremy from mysterious assassins. His close friends assist him in re-capturing his ‘normal’ life, but an outside force continues to control events.
In order to avoid giving away any of the surprises, I will not reveal more about the story. However, if you enjoy suspense and exciting stories, this book may be for you.
